Step 1. Attach the No-Caulk Barrel Flange to the Shower Base
Apply a ½-inch bead of Oatey Plumber’s Putty around the underside of the no-caulk barrel flange.
Note: For ABS shower drains, use silicone instead of putty.
Insert the no-caulk barrel through the top side of the shower base hole and press down firmly without twisting.
Place the rubber sealing washer and friction washer over the barrel on the underside of the shower base.
Tighten the locking ring with adjustable pliers until secure.
Remove any excess plumber’s putty from the top of the drain.
Step 2. Position the Preformed Shower Base for Installation
Carefully set the shower base into the prepared shower footprint, ensuring it is level and properly aligned.
Step 3. Install the Rubber Gasket and Secure the Drain
- Place the rubber pipe gasket (bevel side up) over the drainpipe coming through the no-caulk barrel.
- Push the gasket down until it sits at the bottom of the barrel.
- Thread the gasket set screw into place over the drainpipe using the provided wrench, then tighten with a screwdriver.
Step 4. Install the Shower Drain Cover
Snap the drain cover into place to complete your shower drain installation.
