DAYTON, OHIO - Zach Uselton, owner of Plumbing Wizard in the Miami Valley region of Ohio, brings over a decade of plumbing experience to his residential work. He began his career in 2014 on the commercial side of the trade before making the switch to residential in 2020. By the end of 2023, Uselton had officially launched his own company full-time, serving customers in Dayton, Springfield, Xenia, Beaver Creek, and the surrounding areas.
"When I came up with the name, Plumbing Wizard, I wanted to be different," says Uselton. "Most people name their business using their last name and the word 'plumbing', but I wanted something more memorable. This name had potential for marketing and brand awareness, so I stuck with it."
Recently, Uselton completed a washer and dryer relocation project for a homeowner looking to reconfigure their laundry space. The original setup was located inside the garage entrance, making it inconvenient and visually unappealing. The appliances were moved into an underutilized office space elsewhere in the home to improve functionality and flow.
As part of the job, Uselton rerouted both the drainage and water supply lines to the new location. For the plumbing configuration, he selected the Oatey Quadtro® Washing Machine Outlet Box. Though he had installed various Oatey products over the years, this was one of his first experiences with the Quadtro outlet box model.
"I like how it gives you options," Uselton explains. "The quarter-turn valves rotate, so you can place the hot and cold in whatever position works best. Whether the drain needs to be centered or off to the side, you can configure it how you need it."
The box's design allowed him to fit the configuration to the new space quickly. After fastening the box to the studs, leveling it, and making the drain and water line connections in the basement, the job was completed in about 30 minutes.
"It was straightforward," he says. "As long as you install it level and secure it with supports, it performs exactly the way it should."
In addition to flexibility, Uselton values the Quadtro outlet box's durability. Features like rigid mounting brackets for secure installation, quarter-turn valves for quick shutoff, and optional hammer arresters to protect against water hammer give him confidence that he is installing a high-quality product.
Uselton has used Oatey products since his apprenticeship, from cements and sealants to fittings and outlet boxes, and says the brand has always delivered. "I've put in a lot of Oatey boxes over the years, but the Quadtro is one I'll keep going back to," he notes. "Everything about it makes my job easier. I have more installs coming up that I plan on using it for."
For Plumbing Wizard, the Quadtro Outlet Box has become a go-to solution: dependable, adaptable, and built with the installer in mind.
