Throughout Oatey's history, we have embraced social and environmental consciousness leadership as part of doing business. In 2000, we began exploring how to expand our impact in these areas through implementing sustainability principles. Sustainability means creating products – like lead free solder – processes, services, facilities and communities that improve our quality of life while maintaining the capacity of the environment to provide for future generations. Sustainability is more than green, more than environmental.
Sustainability is an integration of personal health, community, economic and environmental values and needs. Business has started to measure their impact, calling it the Triple Bottom Line. Sustainability principles will help us reduce our costs, increase our revenues, help to restore our environment and enhance our community.
Did you know that our new Cleveland distribution facility meets the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) standards set by the Green Building Council and was awarded a Silver rating? This means that our building will: reduce the impacts of natural resources consumption, reduce operational costs, enhance associate comfort and health and minimize strain on local infrastructures.
